New York Man New King of "Kong"

New York, NY, United States (AHN) – A New York plastic surgeon is the new “King of Kong” as he officially set the world record for the highest score playing the game Donkey Kong.

Dr. Hank Chien, 35, had his score of 1,061,700 confirmed by Twin Galaxies, the official electronic game scorekeeper, according to reports. Chien’s score demolishes that of former record holder Billy Mitchell by 10,000 points.

Chien said he set up cameras inside and outside the machine and completed a checklist of regulations required by Twin Galaxies before he set out to break the record.

He said he got the idea to beat the score after watching “King of Kong,” a documentary featuring Mitchell and other people like him who played classic 80s video games.

According to reports, it took Chien a little over two hours to beat the old record and set a new one.
