Indianapolis, IN, United States (AHN) – Former Firestone Indy Lights champion Alex Lloyd will drive the No. 19 entry for Dale Coyne Racing in the season-opening Sao Paulo Indy 300 in Brazil.

The 2007 Indy Lights champion will make his first IZOD IndyCar Series start on a road course after making three oval appearances over the past two seasons.

The 25-year-old native of Manchester, England has performed well on street-courses in other series in the past, which prompted DCR to sign the youngster, who dominated the 2007 Indy Lights season.

He made his IZOD IndyCar Series debut in the 2008 Indianapolis 500, started two race IndyCar events last season and finished a career-best eighth for Newman/Haas/Lanigan Racing at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
