Daytona Beach, FL, United States (AHN) – NASCAR’s substance-abuse policy has led to the second NASCAR team member to be suspended in as many weeks.
William Hileman, a crew member with the No. 76 team in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, was suspended indefinitely from NASCAR for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy.
The infraction was found on Feb. 25 and he was suspended for reportedly violating Sections 12-1 (actions detrimental to stock car racing) and 19 (violation of the NASCAR substance abuse policy) of the 2010 NASCAR rule book.
Kenneth Luna, a crew member for the No. 23 team in the NASCAR Nationwide Series, was suspended indefinitely one week prior for violating the sanctioning body’s substance abuse policy.
His infraction was disclosed Feb. 24, just days after the series competed at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, Calif.
Luna was sighted for the same violations as Hileman.
