Bison Cagers Avoid Three Game Losing Streak, Dominate Brookville 43-27

The Bisons traveled to Brookville Tuesday night looking to avoid their first three game losing streak in four years, and did just that with a dominating 43-27 victory over the Raiders.

Trey Campman and Chad Zurat broke out of their shooting slumps to lead the Bisons with 15 and 13 points respectively.

Jack Mellgard also played a very effective game at the point chipping in with eight points while controlling the tempo of the game.

Zane Hackett and Chad Brocious paced the Raiders with 8 points apiece.

The game was tight for the first frame as the Bisons clung tightly to a 7-6 lead. Zurat and Ben Johnson combined for Clearfields seven points in the period.

In the second quarter the Bisons used a mix of pressure defense, and spreading out the floor offensively to get numerous easy buckets. Campman lead the charge for the Bisons in the period scoring seven points, while Andrew Redden knocked down a big three point basket.

The aggressive style of Clearfield’s defense once again held Brookville to only six points in the quarter.

In the second half the Bisons kept up the intensity holding Brookville to just six points in the third quarter as well. Though the Bisons only were able to muster 19 points in the second half they were able to hold the Raiders to just 15 enroute to the victory.
