Oregon, IL, United States (CNS) – A rookie fisherman on the Discovery Channel documentary show “Deadliest Catch” has been nabbed for bank robbery. 23-year-old Joshua Tel Warner has been arrested early Thursday on an Oregon bank robbery warrant.
Warner was arrested after he was pulled over for a routine traffic spot in East Peoria, III. He is being held in the Tazewell County Jail on a $30,000 bail.
He was wanted by the Oregon police for a robbery in 2007 and two in 2009.
He appeared on the show as a rookie deckhand on the king crab fishing boat Wizard earlier this year.
According to a press conference held by Detective Jeff Donaca and quoted by eonline.com, the police were unable to name a suspect prior to Warner’s appearance on the show.
He said, “He was such a unique character on the show that a lot of people remembered him. I don’t think you can end up on national TV, make a spectacle of yourself and not end up getting caught for three bank robberies.”
“Deadliest Catch” documents the events aboard crab fishing ships in the treacherous Bering Sea. It premiered in 2005, and will be airing its sixth season this year.
