The Penn State DuBois men\’s basketball team improved to 7-3 with a thrilling, 97-92 double-overtime victory at Jamestown Community College on Tuesday night.
JCC lead by five points at halftime, 34-29. Penn State DuBois used a 16-3 run to take the lead early in the second half. Penn State DuBois lead for much of the second half until a drive and bucket by JCC with 2.3 seconds left tied the game at 73 and sent the contest to overtime.
In the overtime period, the game remained tight, and JCC again hit a big shot. JCC made 3-pointer with 5.5 seconds left to tie the score at 84 and force a second extra period.
JCC lead by four points with 1:50 left to play, but Penn State DuBois scored the the last nine points of the second overtime to record a 97-92 victory.
Penn State DuBois was lead by Marcus Genevro who posted 31 points and 5 rebounds. Chris Dickison contributed 22 points and 9 rebounds, and Josh Salter
pitched in with 20 points. Penn State DuBois received a big boost off the bench as freshman, Woody Mitchell (East Stroudsburg North), recorded his first career
double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
