LOCK HAVEN – Fifth District Democratic Congressional candidate and Lock Haven Mayor Rick Vilello has pushed the contest for candidate endorsements to a new level. The Vilello campaign announced that it has secured the endorsement of Pennsylvania Gov. Edward G. Rendell.
“I am giving my support and endorsement to the only candidate who I believe has the experience, leadership and commitment to make the hard choices and changes necessary to move Pennsylvania’s Fifth district forward,” said Rendell. “That candidate is Rick Vilello.”
“I have known Rick since my first term as governor and over these six years have gained valuable insight into what he believes and what he stands for. Mayor Vilello has a genuine passion and love for Lock Haven and its people and would like to put that same passion to work for all the people of the 5th Congressional District. He has served the public trust with honesty, integrity and devotion and I know he can, and will, do even more in Congress.”
Vilello stated “This is certainly one of the high points of my campaign. Although Governor Rendell and I don’t agree on the answers to all the issues facing the Commonwealth and the 5th District it should be reassuring to the voters that he recognizes my hard work and numerous successes.”
“Above all, I want to encourage all Democrats in the 5th District to vote for me, Rick Vilello, on April 22nd.”
Vilello also announced recently that he has been endorsed by state Sen. John Wozniak, state Rep. Michael Hanna, and numerous union locals within the district.
