CLEARFIELD – A woman was sentenced to state prison after pleading guilty to assaulting another woman.
Michele Marks was sentenced to 30 days to two years in a state correctional institution. Upon release she is to refrain from the use of alcohol and controlled substances, is to have no contact with the victim or the victim’s immediate family and is to attend anger management counseling.
The victim in the case, a woman, described to President Judge Fredric J. Ammerman that she was out walking when she came upon a man she believed needed assistance. When asked that, the man declined. The woman said that he asked to walk with the woman, who told him no. She said the man walked with her anyway. She said that at one point Marks jumped her, punching her in the face and pinning her to the ground.
“I begged, I cried, I screamed for someone to make her stop” said the woman.
Marks apologized, saying that she was sorry for what happened.
