Williamsport–The Clearfield Bisons finished 10th out of 18 teams in the season-opening Top Hat Tournament this weekend in Williamsport. The Bisons scored 92 points; Central Dauphin won the team title with 249 points.
Individually, heavyweight Sean Owen placed highest for Clearfield, notching a 2nd-place finish. Top-seeded Owen scored 3 falls on his way to the finals before being upset 4-3 in the finals by Daniel Nickoli of Central Dauphin East.
Other placewinners for Clearfield included a 5th-place for Andre Buck at 215 lbs., 6th-place for freshman Derek Danver at 145, and 6th-place for Shawn Hall at 160.
Clearfield returns to action Thursday at home against Bradford. The meet is set to begin at 7PM.
