HARRISBURG – State Rep. Camille “Bud” George, D-74 of Clearfield County, announced that the Branding Iron, a Curwensville restaurant, has won
approval of a $2,240 state grant to improve energy efficiency.
The grant will be used to purchase and install a high-efficiency heating, ventilation and air conditioning system and other items designed to conserve energy.
The grant was made through the state Department of Environmental Protection’s now-closed Small Business Advantage Grant program, which provides 50 percent matching grants of up to $7,500 to enable small businesses in Pennsylvania to acquire energy efficient or pollution prevention equipment or processes.
“We need to provide more opportunities to enable businesses and homeowners to conserve energy before the rate caps on electric-generation charges expire and electric bills go through the roof,” George said.
