CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County 4-H & FFA Livestock Sale Committee is very pleased to announce the ten recipients of this year’s 4-H & FFA Livestock Sale Scholarship. Each recipient met all of the eligibility requirements, which included being enrolled in some form of post-secondary education and being an active Livestock Sale participant within 4 years of applying.
4-H and FFA members are eligible to receive the scholarship for a maximum of four years as long as they continue to meet the scholarship requirements. Former 4-H and FFA members are also eligible up to their fourth year after graduation. All scholarship applications were due to the Livestock Sale Committee on September 15th.
This year recipients include Lena Hope Fry. Lena is a former member of the Harmony 4-H Club. Lena is a senior at Elizabethtown College, where she is majoring in Biology & Pre-Medicine. Lena is the daughter of Barry and Regina Fry of Westover.
Josiah Delwyn Fry was also named a recipient this year. J. Delwyn is a member of the Harmony 4-H Club and is a freshman at Penn State University – University Park campus majoring in Aerospace Engineering. J. Delwyn is the son of Barry and Regina Fry of Westover.
Justin Clark was another recipient of the scholarship. Justin is a member of the Clearfield County 4-H Beef Club. Justin is currently a sophomore at Penn State University – DuBois Campus majoring in Wildlife Technology. Justin is the son of Dave and Michele Clark of Curwensville.
Megan Junod was also selected as a scholarship recipient. Megan is a member of the Harmony 4-H Club and is a freshman at Lake Erie College, where she is majoring in Equestrian Training with a minor in Communications. Megan is the daughter of Tim and betty Junod of Mahaffey.
Zachary McCloskey was also chosen as a recipient. Zachary is a former member of the Clearfield County 4-H Beef Club and is a junior at Penn State University – University Park campus majoring in Wildlife & Fisheries Science. Zachary is the son of Mike and Michelle McCloskey of Clearfield.
Benjamin Kerr was also chosen as a recipient. Benjamin is a member of the Clearfield County 4-H Beef Club. Benjamin is currently a sophomore at Penn State University – DuBois campus majoring in Accounting. Benjamin is the son of Mike and Paula Kerr of Clearfield.
Mitchell Stephens is another recipient of the scholarship. Mitchell is a member of both the Clearfield County 4-H Beef Club and the Clearfield FFA Chapter. Mitchell is currently a sophomre at Penn State University – DuBois campus majoring in Animal Science. Mitchell is the son of Greg and Cathy Stephens of Woodland.
Another scholarship recipient is Danielle Maines. Danielle Maines is a member of both the Clearfield County 4-H Beef Club and the Clearfield FFA Chapter. Dani is currently a sophomore at Penn State University – University Park campus majoring in Agricultural Sciences. Danielle is the daughter of Frank and Melony Maines of Clearfield.
Jesse Freyer was another recipient of the scholarship. Jesse was a former member of the Harmony 4-H Club and is a current Clearfield FFA member. Jesse is currently attending Triangle Tech of DuBois for Welding and Fabrication. Jesse is the son of Earl and Joyce Freyer of Curwensville.
Rounding out the recipients is Elizabeth Wriglesworth. Elizabeth is a former member of the Hepburnia 4-H Club and is currently a senior at Penn State University – University Park campus majoring in Animal Science. Elizabeth is the daughter of Jeff and Karen Wriglesworth of Grampian.
