Flashlight, check! Bag to hold treats, check! An adult to ensure that all candy is safe, double-check!
To ensure that the Halloween season is fun for everyone, many area municipalities set dates and times for trick-or-treat nights. If the municipality in which you live isn’t listed below, check back. If you represent a municipality and want to see yours listed, visit our Virtual Newsroom, choose Public Submission and then choose Public Notices. We will be sure to add it to our list.
Civic organizations, church groups and others who plan to host public gatherings such as treat nights, parades and the like should submit their information in the same way.
As always, if you are taking your chidren trick-or-treating, only go to homes that have their porch lights turned on. If you are accepting trick-or-treaters, be sure your light is on.

The event, sponsored by the Clearfield Kiwanis Club, is a tradition in Clearfield.
The parade begins at 7 p.m., but lineup starts at 6:30 p.m. Cash prizes will be awarded for the best costumes.
Other events are also planned including a pumpkin-decorating contest. One pumpkin can be entered for each child age 12 and under. Pumpkins should be brought to the front of Expo I by 6:30 p.m. Judges will award prizes for the best pumpkins.
Throughout the day, a flea market and craft sale will be held in Expo I.
The parade will begin near where the midway is set up during the Clearfield County Fair, travel between the grandstand and Expo I, turn right onto Park Drive, left onto McBride Street, left onto Paddock Drive, left onto Park Drive and finish in the park.
Jack O’Lantern Contest
A jack O’lantern contest is being sponsored by the Houtzdale Fire Co. Children are asked to bring their carved pumpkin to the fire hall on Wednesday, October 31 at 6 p.m. where the pumpkins will then be judged by category.
The event is being held in conjunction with the Houtzdale-Ramey EMS Halloween parade, which begins at the fire hall and ends at the EMS building. After the parade, children are asked to return to the fire hall where prizes will be awarded to the winners. Refreshments will also be served.
First- and second-place prizes will be awarded to the following categories: scariest and most unique.
