DUBOIS – The Sandy Township supervisors received information prior to Monday’s meeting regarding outdoor furnaces in other municipalities.
Citizens approached the supervisors at a recent meeting to ask that an ordinance regulating outdoor furnaces be considered. Residents of Maple Avenue in Sandy Township claim one resident is burning things such as plastic in his outdoor furnace and that he burns items in it when heat is not needed.
The supervisors announced that they would table the issue until they have time to review some sample ordinances that were received. They will also look at a Jefferson County court decision on outdoor furnaces.
