CLEARFIELD – Clearfield County District Attorney William A. Shaw Jr. announced that charges have been filed against a second inmate for assisting in the recent escape from the Clearfield County Jail.
Shaw identified the defendant as Hank Calvin Petrillo, 19, of Clearfield.
The criminal complaint filed by Chief Deputy Sheriff Robert Snyder charges Petrillo with:
1) Conspiracy to Commit Escape
2) Conspiracy to Commit Flight to Avoid Prosecution
3) Obstructing the Administration of Law or Other Governmental Functions
4) Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution
An affidavit of probable cause filed with the complaint alleges that Petrillo assisted Ronald
James Beltowski flee from the jail on Sunday. The affidavit alleges that Petrillo lifted
Beltowski to enable Beltowski to utilize the second level of fencing to access the jail roof, which
facilitated Beltowski’s escape from incarceration. After accessing the second level of fencing,
Beltowski was able to hoist himself to the roof.
Petrillo was arraigned Tuesday and bail established at $50,000. A Preliminary hearing is scheduled for October for Oct. 3 at 9:30 am.
Shaw noted that the investigation continues.
