CLEARFIELD – A man facing charges for robbing the Coalport 5&10 in December waived all charges to court when he appeared at preliminary hearings Wednesday.
Anthony C. Stiver, 18, formerly of Coalport and now of Hastings, allegedly entered the store by knocking out a boarded-up window between 5 p.m. Dec. 26 and 9 a.m. Dec. 27. Once inside, Stiver, another man and a juvenile removed many items from the store.
Merchandise taken included Pennsylvania lottery tickets, a Raiders jacket, cell phones, Christmas CDs and cassettes, batteries, soda, candy bars, toilet paper, tissues, kitchen towels, bed pillows, blankets and over-the-counter medication.
Court documents report that when state police spoke with Stiver in June, and he admitted to entering the store but said he did not take anything.
Stiver admitted that after the incident the man involved bought him two six-packs of beer.
Documents have yet to be filed regarding the man involved in the case.
Stiver was released from Clearfield County Jail on $50,000 supervised unsecured bail.
