CURWENSVILLE – A 29-year-old LaJose man led state police on a chase on Aug. 25.
According to the police report troopers stopped the man as a part of a traffic stop. While they approached the vehicle the man fled the scene and began traveling at a high rate of speed down state Route 453. The vehicle was also reported to be traveling in the lane of oncoming traffic on several occasions. The vehicle turned onto township Route 565 and traveled onto a railroad bed. At this time a legal intervention was used to stop the pursuit for safety reasons.
Troopers detected alcohol on the man’s breath and he was arrested for fleeing and eluding and DUI and was transported to Clearfield Hospital for blood testing to determine his blood-alcohol content. He was then placed in Clearfield County Jail pending arraignment.
