CLEARFIELD – A closure and detour will be in effect beginning July 5 as work begins on a box culvert along Route 1009 in Morris Township, near the village of Hawk Run. The three-mile detour will direct traffic to use Route 53 to get around the work zone.
Signage will be in place to alert motorists to the closure and detour. The contractor on the half-million dollar project is Francis J. Palo Inc. of Clarion. Work includes box culvert placement, guide rail, drainage, minor roadway re-alignment, and approach paving. Project completion is expected by mid-September.
PennDOT reminds drivers to move through all work zones with caution, follow all detour signs, and always buckle-up.
