CLEARFIELD – PennDOT held a second public meeting yesterday (June 20) to showcase plans for a new DuBois Regional Medical Center access. The open house, public meeting was held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the lobby of the medical center and featured details of PennDOT’s preferred alternative for the project.
The preferred alternative will shift Hospital Avenue to the west and shift Dixon Avenue to the east, making a four-way intersection with a new traffic signal and turning lanes. PennDOT spent time at the meeting in one-on-one conversations with property owners and residents in the area and with hospital employees. Written comments regarding the plan were also accepted. Prior to the public meeting, PennDOT and its representatives met with local, public officials to review details of the plan.
PennDOT expects construction of the project to begin in spring 2009 at an estimated, total cost of $5.2 million.
