BURNSIDE – A fire that destroyed a Burnside building is being investigated by the state police fire marshal and the Cherry Tree Fire Department.
The structure — known as the Tabernacle Building — is a two-story 27-foot-by-75-foot brick building at the intersection of Stifflertown Road and Stiffler Hill Road in Burnside Township. The property, owned by Phillip L. Schlereth Sr., 59, of Cherry Tree, was being used as a storage property.
Damage is estimated at $40,000.
No injuries were reported as a result of the blaze.
The Cherry Tree Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Burnside Fire Department, the Northern Cambria Fire Department and the Commodore Fire Department.
