HARRISBURG – Gov. Edward G. Rendell today congratulated members of his cabinet who were confirmed Wednesday by the Pennsylvania Senate.
“My administration is fortunate to include the best and brightest administrators working in state government today,” Rendell said. “I look forward to continuing to work with this talented team to advance our important agenda of progress for Pennsylvania.”
On April 25, the Senate voted to confirm the nominations of:
Nora Dowd Eisenhower, Secretary of Aging
Dennis C. Wolff, Secretary of Agriculture
James P. Creedon, Secretary of General Services
Dennis Yablonsky, Secretary of Community and Economic Development
Dr. Calvin Johnson, Secretary of Health
Thomas W. Wolf, Secretary of Revenue
Previously confirmed by the Senate were:
Jeffrey A. Beard, Secretary of Corrections
Stephen M. Schmerin, Secretary of Labor and Industry
Maj. Gen. Jessica L. Wright, Adjutant General, Pennsylvania National Guard
Estelle B. Richman, Secretary of Public Welfare
Col. Jeffrey B. Miller, Commissioner, Pennsylvania State Police
Allen D. Biehler, P.E., Secretary of Transportation
The nominations of Secretary of Environmental Protection Kathleen McGinty and Secretary of Conservation and Natural Resources Michael DiBerardinis are pending before the Senate.
With the exception of McGinty and DiBerardinis, other members of the Governor’s cabinet who are subject to confirmation by the Senate have received it. By law, Secretary of Education Dr. Gerald Zahorchak and Secretary of State Pedro Cortes did not need to be re-nominated. The departments of Banking and Insurance currently are being managed by acting administrators.
