AMSTERDAM, Ohio – Ozer Ministries of East Palestine is sponsoring a regional essay contest in anticipation of its 20th anniversary this fall.
Co-founders John and Daryl Hersh organized Ozer Ministries as a nonprofit organization with a mission to provide hope with the opportunity to change for families, adults and youth.
The ministry’s goal is to help people to help themselves, and in turn, help others. Mentoring, guidance and example are techniques used to help clients.
The ministry will mark its 20th year Sept. 30.
The essay theme is “Is Your Significant Other Date-Worthy?” The contest is open to all residents of Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The essay should reflect the building blocks of character and how they have affected your relationship with your significant other.

All entries should be submitted with a tax-deductible donation of $5, which will be used for the continued development of mentoring programs for families, individuals and youth.
All entries must include name, address and phone number of the writer. The winner will be announced June 15 and will be notified by phone. All entries become the property of Ozer Ministries, Inc. Questions should be addressed to Ozer Ministries at (330) 426-2147.
