BOSTON – Joshua D. Yoder received a doctorate degree in virology from Harvard University on March 6.
His dissertation focused on how rotavirus, a common childhood pathogen, gains entry into cells and on development of next generation rotavirus vaccines.
Yoder is a 1997 graduate of Philipsburg-Osceola Area High School and earned a bachelor of science in biochemistry and molecular biology from Penn State University in 2000.
He is currently a postdoctoral research fellow studying structural virology at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind.
Yoder is married to Jennifer (Wood) Yoder (POHS ’98). He is the son of Paul and Paula Yoder, and the grandson of Janet Somsky, all of Gearheartville.
