CLEARFIELD – A 42-year-old Karthaus woman accused of involuntary manslaughter waived her right to a preliminary hearing on Wednesday.
Michelle Probst is charged with involuntary manslaughter, four counts of endangering the welfare of children, four counts of corruption of minors and related charges.
The charges stem from July 2006 incident in which Probst was at the Mosquito Creek Sportsmen’s Club. She gave her keys to a person not licensed and allowed that person to drive home.
While driving home, that person swerved to avoid a deer and lost control of his vehicle. One of the passengers in the truck died as a result of massive head trauma from the accident.
Probst is free on unsecured bail.
