Car Hits Elk in Huston Township

HUSTON TOWNSHIP – A Sykesville man struck an elk with his vehicle on Jan. 8, report DuBois based state police.

According to the report 29 year old Bernard Ashenfelter was traveling on state Route 255 around 9:35 when an elk walked onto the roadway. Ashenfelter then hit the elk with his vehicle.

Ashenfelter was not injured from the accident, though his vehicle needed towing. It was not reported how the elk fared.
