DUBOIS – A DuBois man now has four sex-related cases pending in Clearfield County Court.
Jamie L. Rowles, 29, faces charges including rape, sexual assault, aggravated indecent assault, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, endangering the welfare of children and corruption of minors in the four cases.
Rowles waived his right to preliminary hearings for the two newest cases before Magisterial District Judge Patrick N. Ford Thursday afternoon.
The two new cases allege that Rowles molested a 3-year-old girl and propositioned a 13-year-old girl.
In one previous case, Rowles is charged with raping 19-year-old DuBois area woman. In the other, he is alleged to have inappropriately touched a 19-year-old mentally disabled man.
Most of the incidents occurred from late 2005 and until June.
Rowles is being held in lieu of $50,000 straight bail for the alleged rape of the DuBois woman and $5,000 straight bail for allegedly touching the man.
He is incarcerated in lieu of $10,000 straight bail in each of the newest cases.
According to court documents, the actions between Rowles and the 3-year-old came to light when she began to exhibit odd behavior for a child her age while in pre-school and at her foster home.
The child’s foster mother also recounted an incident in which the girl would attempt to sexually assault another child.
The foster mother also said the girl told her that Rowles would perform oral sex on her.
The child was examined by a medical doctor who stated that the girl described Rowles having her “tickle” his penis with her tongue.
A medical exam on the girl showed that there was evidence that she could have been assaulted.
The other new case involves a 13-year-old girl who was staying at the Rowles family home in July 2005. The girl was taking a bath when, court documents state, Rowles went into the bathroom and exposed his genitals, saying the girl “had a nice body.”
The girl left the bathroom crying. Rowles was then alleged to have gone into a bedroom where the girl was being consoled by another. Rowles was wearing his underwear, but he again made comments offering to have a sexual relationship with the girl.
The charges against Rowles, if he is convicted, could mean a substantial jail sentence along with fines and court costs.
Rowles formerly lived in Clearfield.
