A strong cold front will plow through the area Friday, one accompanied by heavy showers and a narrow line of strong to severe thunderstorms.
The National Weather Service reports that wind gusts of around 60 mph are expected to occur with some storms.
In the wake of the storm, strong and potentially damaging winds are expected into the evening as sharply colder air overspreads the region.
Trash cans should be secured as well as lawn furniture and other outdoor objects. The high winds could also topple trees, down power lines and cause property damage.
The high wind warning is in effect until midnight Friday.
