CLEARFIELD – A prison worker accused of having sexual relations with an inmate at State Correctional Institution-Houtzdale pleaded guilty to institutional sexual assault on Tuesday.
Former activities director Cynthia Posmoga, 54 of Morrisdale, was sentenced to 30 days in Clearfield County Jail and two years probation. Posmoga was ordered to pay fines and costs and to have an evaluation with Project Point of Light.
The affidavit of probable cause states that in Sept. of 2005, prison officials had reason to believe that sexual activity was occurring in the activities department. A surveillance unit was installed, and Posmoga and a prisoner were recorded on Oct. 15, 2005 in various stages of undress and intimate activity.
When questioned by officials, Posmoga admitted having sexual relations with the prisoner on multiple occasions.
