DUBOIS – A request submitted by the DuBois City fire chief met the approval of city council on Monday.
DuBois City Council approved a proposed memorial for firemen killed in the line of duty to be placed in the DuBois City Memorial Park. The memorial is slated to be financed by Sandy Township and DuBois City fire departments.
The motion that was approved also called for the park committee and fire department to get together to decide exactly where the memorial will be located in the park. One potential spot that was cited was near the Edward V. Cherry Amphitheater on the Liberty Boulevard side of the park.
