Clearfield–The fall wrestling program of the Power Plant Mat Club begins this Tuesday in Clearfield. The Power Plant Mat Club is a non-profit organization that provides supplemental wrestling practice and training for area youth wrestlers.
The space located at rear 203 N. 2nd Street is donated, as are the utilities. There is a small fee charged to participants to assist in covering the club insurance, USA Wrestling Charter, and a small stipend for the head Power Plant coach.
The program is open to wrestlers ages 6 to 18. Sessions will be Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The cost is $5/session for first child in a family; $2.50/session for 2nd child and no charge for additional children in the same family.
Pay for Tues & Thurs sessions, attend Sunday session at no cost. A USA wrestling card is necessary at the cost of $30. The card is good from 9/1/06 through 8/31/07. Registration forms and applications for the USA card will be at the entrance sign-in cabinet.
Clearfield Area School Distric wrestlers who attend and participate satisfactorily in 10 sessions will receive $30 credit toward Power Plant tuition. Kids will have six weeks from the time they start to complete the 10 sessions. Wrestlers and parents are responsible for signing in each time to insure credit for attendance is recorded.
