CLEARFIELD – The Clearfield County Local Emergency Planning Committee agreed to a purchase that would help responders in the police, fire departments, and emergency medical services.
The books, tailored for each service, give the responder the questions that dispatchers are required to ask. This in turn will make it easier for both the responder and the dispatcher by putting them on the same page.
“I personally think it would help,” said LEPC chairman Terry Wigfield. Wigfield is also the supervisor for Clearfield EMS.
Josh Quigley, board member and Hyde Fire Company chief agreed.
“It would give an idea of what questions are asked by dispatchers,” said Quigley.
“I think it would help coordinate things much better,” said Deb Archer of the Clearfield County Emergency Management Agency.
Morris-Cooper Regional Police Lieutenant Todd Lombardo also believed it would help police as well.
“It would help chiefs and new officers coming out of the the academy,” said Lt. Lombardo.
The purchase of 100 books at a cost of $4,050 was approved by the LEPC. However, the Clearfield County Commissioners must still approve the purchase.
