OSCEOLA MILLS – State troopers stopped a vehicle driven by a 21-year-old Philipsburg man for a minor traffic violation Tuesday just before midnight, and when the vehicle was approached, the man took off, leading troopers on a six-mile chase that ended with a crash.
Police pursued the vehicle over rural roads around Osceola Mills, and a second police unit used spike strips to slow the vehicle.
The man then attempted to elude police by traveling down an old dirt path off of state Route 2007 in Decatur Township. The pursuit finally ended when the man’s vehicle crashed into a police vehicle.
After the impact, officers were able to take the man into custody.
No information was available as to whether the man was arraigned on charges to date.
