CLEARFIELD – A West Decatur man who fled officers, leading them on a chase through Lawrence and Goshen townships, will serve six months behind bars at Clearfield County Jail.
Jeffrey Gearhart Jr., now 21, was charged with failing to stop for police officers while driving an all-terrain vehicle. Gearhart was charged with aggravated assault by vehicle while driving under the influence because Gearhart struck a police officer in the leg with the ATV. He also caused another officer to injure his shoulder.
After being tested, it was learned that Gearhart, a minor at the time of the incident, had a blood-alcohol content of 0.13 percent.
In addition to the jail time, Gearhart was ordered to serve a period of probation and pay more than $2,800 in restitution plus fines and costs.
