Lady Tide Capture Mo Valley League Title

The Curwensville Lady Tide capped a fantastic regular season on Wednesday with a 10 – 2 victory over Mo Valley league rival Moshannon Valley. The game, which was suspended in the 5th inning due to rain on May 26th, was typical of the Lady Tide.  It contained a strong pitching performance by Junior Kristie Newpher and an aggressive offensive attack.

The Tide completed an undefeated romp through the Moshannon Valley League to claim their title. The Lady Tide stand at 19 – 2 on the season.

There will be little time to celebrate, as the Lady Tide return to District 9 playoff action today. They will face off with the Elk County Catholic Crusaders at 4:30 in Brockway.

ECC is a team that Curwensville knows well, having beaten them twice this season. That fact doesn\’t give Head Coach Allen Leigey alot of comfort though; as he remarked that \”it\’s hard to beat a team 3 times.\”
