Coalport man wanted by police

COALPORT – State police are looking for a fugitive in connection with a theft that happened last summer in Coalport.

Cory Abbott, 20, is believed to have stolen a four-wheeler from a home in Coalport Borough sometime between July 27 and 28. Police report that Abbott sold the four-wheeler for $800, but it was later recovered.

 

As a result, Abbott was charged with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property and was scheduled for a hearing Nov. 16.

Abbott failed to appear, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

 

Abbott’s last known address is 326 Railroad St., Coalport, and he is known to frequent the Irvona and Grampian areas. Police believe it is possible that Abbott is in Ohio.

 

He is described as being a white man with short, light brown hair. He has blue eyes and is 6 feet, 1 inch tall, weighing 155 pounds with a medium build.
